Advertising record for House and Leisure

House and Leisure, an Associated Magazines publication, has closed its November 2004 issue with a total of 63.3 advertising pages, making the issue's ad revenue the largest in the magazine's 11-year history. Up 29% from the previous month and almost 19% from the same time last year, House and Leisure has entrenched its position as one of the leading niche lifestyle magazines on the market.

"Our focus on travel, leisure, décor, food, property and design makes the magazine an obvious advertising home for many leading lifestyle brands in the country," says Luanne Lascaris, Advertising Manager for House and Leisure. "Niche lifestyle magazines and interiors magazines in particular have experienced phenomenal growth over the last year as the South African public is spending more time and money on homes and entertainment."

Says Kate Wilson, editor of House and Leisure, "South Africa's design and décor industries have enjoyed unprecedented global attention over the last few years, which has had the knock-on effect of stimulating the local market. As one of the country's few home-grown interiors titles, House and Leisure has been able to capitalise on this proudly South African trend, and as the first magazine of its kind it has grown an audience that is both extremely loyal to the magazine and to the South African products it advertises."

The November issue of House and Leisure will be on sale from 20 October 2004 at leading bookstores around South Africa.
