Purpose of position:

To take responsibility for the transportation and delivery of goods across Gauteng.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Transport and deliver goods across Gauteng.
• Verify delivery and collection addresses before departing and upon arrival at customer sites.
• Verify timelines and drop off schedules before departing.
• Verify products and quantities being loaded and offloaded against delivery documentation.
• Ensure secure handling of goods at pick-up and delivery points.
• Obtain customer signatures and ensure all delivery documentation is completed accurately.
• Physically assist with the loading and offloading of goods.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service during all deliveries.
• Comply with all road safety regulations and company transport procedures.
• Comply with hazardous goods transportation requirements and safety standards.
• Ensure truck is always in good working order and report defects to dispatch coordinator.

Required skills

• Good numeracy skills and attention to detail for quantity verification.
• Ability to read and follow delivery instructions and verify addresses accurately.
• Physical ability to perform manual loading and offloading of goods.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Valid South African code 10 driver’s license.
• Valid hazardous goods transportation certification/license.
• At least 2 years’ experience in transportation of chemicals.
