The Liminal Leader

How to lead when the old world hasn't quite disappeared and the new one hasn't arrived

It is an exciting time, living in the space between worlds.

The old ways of working and leading have not altogether disappeared. And at the same time there are new expectations and possibilities shaping what comes next.

This is the liminal space, a transitional time and territory between what is known and what is just beyond. It can feel uncertain, ambiguous and uncomfortable, very much a VUCA experience.
Liminal leaders learn to operate here.

They embrace a futures focussed mindset and notice what is changing before it becomes obvious. They can hold competing possibilities without rushing to premature answers. They question assumptions, connect seemingly unrelated signals and imagine options beyond the familiar. And they are prepared to let go, to unlearn what no longer serves them or their organisation.

As a futures focussed, liminal leader, you aren’t expected to predict the future. We develop our capacity for engaging with the future and all its uncertainties, and we help our organisations to move forward even when there isn’t a clearly defined path.

In this session we explore what it means to lead from the edge of certainty.

PARTICIPANTS WILL:

- Develop ways to identify emerging signals, patterns and possibilities around the corner, before they become obvious
- Explore how to hold multiple possible futures without rushing into premature decision
- Consider how they can become a distinctive future-oriented voice in a leadership team or boardroom

THIS WEBINAR IS FOR YOU...

The capability to think as a futurist, as a liminal leader, belongs in every leadership team and boardroom.
