Lactalis Group to acquire Kraft Heinz's natural cheese division

Lactalis Group has announced it has entered into a definitive agreement with Kraft Heinz to acquire its natural, grated, cultured, and specialty cheese businesses in the US, grated cheese business in Canada, and entire international cheese business outside North America, Business Wire reports.

The acquisition will see the group will take over a portfolio of Kraft Heinz brands that include Cracker Barrel, Breakstone's, Knudsen, Polly-O, Athenos, Hoffman's, and outside the US and Canada only, Cheez Whiz.

Lactalis will also acquire three Kraft Heinz production facilities located in Tulare, CA, Walton, NY, and Wausau, WI, as well as a distribution centre in Weyauwega, WI.
