Arterial Network Zimbabwe appoints new steering committee
Following an advocacy seminar for cultural policies, sponsored by Pro-Helvetia, and held in Harare, Zimbabwe earlier this month, Arterial Network Zimbabwe hosted its first general meeting at the Bronte Garden Hotel. Following discussion of the Arterial Network Strategic Plan and Constitution the meeting concluded with the election of the new steering committee of Arterial Network Zimbabwe.
Arterial Network is voluntary civil society non-profit organisation engaged in building a vibrant and sustainable creative sector across the continent and has national chapters in 40 African countries. The newly elected steering committee mandated to carry out the Arterial Network vision and objectives in Zimbabwe comprises:

Creative Arts Projects- Hector MuganiA process of identifying priorities and an action plan for the country chapter is underway. This includes extending the network in other provinces and hosting events to raise the chapter profile and membership. A key priority is to register with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, and a meeting has been held already with the executive director of the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, Elvas Mari. With its focus on structural development and training, Arterial Network is expected to make a significant contribution to the arts and culture communities of Zimbabwe.
