Responsibilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years’ experience in Data Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical role.
- Proven experience with AWS Cloud Services (S3, Glue, Redshift, EMR, Lambda, Athena).
- Strong programming skills in SQL and Python.
- Advanced understanding of data modelling (Kimball, Data Vault) and ETL/ELT development.
- Experience with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Previous leadership or team management experience essential.
Qualifications and experience:
- Lead the design and delivery of scalable and secure data architectures aligned with Dis-Chem’s analytics and digital strategies.
- Develop and manage robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple systems.
- Ensure data models and structures support BI, analytics, and AI use cases.
- Collaborate with data science, BI, and business teams to ensure data quality, availability, and performance.
- Define and enforce engineering standards, frameworks, and best practices.
- Drive platform automation, performance optimisation, and cost management.
- Mentor and coach data engineers and architects to build internal capability.
