Risk and Analytics Manager

Responsibilities:
- Support the team in achieving a balanced credit portfolio by accurately forecasting expected results.
- Develop and implement champion/challenger customer strategies to drive performance in line with company objectives.
- Monitor portfolio performance and proactively recommend changes to ensure KPIs are met.
- Investigate data integrity issues, test assumptions, and validate analytical results to ensure accuracy.
- Analyze the impact of strategy changes on account management and customer outcomes.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders through reports and presentations.
- Forecast and monitor implemented strategies using statistical techniques.
- Project manage the implementation of strategy changes into live systems.
- Conduct coding and data manipulations as required (retailer experience preferred).
- Apply expertise in credit strategy, including IFRS9, credit rules, and risk registers.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant postgraduate degree in mathematical or statistical subjects preferred; B. Com or Business Science degree acceptable.
- 8+ years’ experience in consumer credit analytics, with proven ability to implement solutions based on analytical findings.
- Deep understanding of the credit lifecycle; experience with revolving store cards or credit cards advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently under both structured and unstructured environments.
- Experience in predictive analytics with a strong numerical and statistical background.
- Ability to monitor models and report results to the Board.
- Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members.
- Experience with SAS (Base, Enterprise Guide, or SAS Viya) strongly advantageous.
- Knowledge of SAS SQL or Python for analytics is an advantage.
