Melanie Oliver
PRO/journalist and Synthesist Thinker who relocated to the Garden Route and fell down the rabbit hole. Self employed as a landscape gardener for the last decade or so, but keen to reenter the world of communication again. Rather good at marketese. Looking for interesting prospects, especially if they involve travel, management and concept creation.
Show profile Hide profileMostly sane, except when tge full moon is rising, slightly eccentric, multi-talented and experienced, single non-smoker. No human dependants, 46 Capricorn.
A-2 type individual and Synthesist Thinker (both halves of my brain are equally dominant), which means I am logical and organized and creative and innovative in my thinking. Add an above average I.Q. plus a good E.Q. if all the magazine quizzes can be believed, then I am either the find of the century, or your worst nightmare. I have anose for news, so can dig up dirt while not even trying, which is why I only work with people I like companies with good business ethic's.
On the upside, I am a great armchair detective...
Plus I excel at making money for other folk and am an above average sales person. I have dipped my toes in the waters of the social media and despite gaining a soupcon of skill, am content in the knowledge that I will never master all of them.
If you are looking for an unusual addition to your workforce, whether full, or part-time, then look no further,
I need work that requires me to use my creativity and intiative, have responsibility for myself and offers great variety. Travel would be great!
Having been self employed for over a decade, I know how to manage staff, am great with client liaison and crisis management.
My many hobbies and interests, include waste recycling programs and trying to launch new job creation projects. I have a passion for good books, art, orchids, bonsai, interior design and collecting a multitude of odd items.
My C.V. would give most potential employers nightmares, as I believe in "learning by experience", but I can:
Organize a function, cook for it if I have to, do the flowers, publicity, promotion, advertising, report back and design decor or sets and a few other things I can't think of right now.
I am capable of job stability. The longest I ever worked for one company was for 14 months. I left as I had obtained my PR qualification, low salary and a medical problem that surfaced. I was an extremely proficient Promotions Assistant and learnt to write great "marketese".
Not a 'dolly bird', but not too bad to look at. Have a strong personality, but I am a 'nice" individual who says what I think when need be. It takes a lot to intimidate, phase me or disorientate me. If I don't know something, I ask.
I would love to get a wage for a change, instead of paying them.
