Volker Heiden is the new VP of Protea Hotels by Marriott

Volker Heiden has been named the new VP of Protea Hotels by Marriott, Marriott International, Middle East and Africa. Supporting Mark Satterfield, COO Africa and the Middle East and Africa Operations Services, Heiden's new role will include leading operational functions of the Protea Hotels by Marriott brand throughout Africa, which will entail covering eight countries on the continent.

Heiden started his career in the hospitality industry at Hyatt International and began his 20-year career at Marriott International in 1997. Heiden will move to the Marriott International Cape Town office from his role as regional vice president finance for the Caribbean and Latin America.
