The Cape Town Cruise Terminal has been awarded the Africa's Leading Cruise Port 2023 award at the World Travel Awards, signifying its integral role in Cape Town's maritime heritage and ocean economy. A recent economic study revealed that the 2022/23 cruise season injected R1.2bn into the Western Cape economy, generating 1,800 local jobs. International visitors contributed over R612m in spending, with cruise lines adding R648m to the region's economy, fostering potential growth.
