Taking the lead for Africa

The July issue of Leadership marks its 250th edition. The magazine was born 23 years ago when the ANC was taboo and the Government had a strong hand in what the media could say. The first cover, a leap of faith for Africa, was Robert Mugabe. Over the years Leadership has collected 14 Mondi Awards for excellence in journalism and photography. Now owned by Cape Media Corporation, a special edition featuring Nelson Mandela on its July cover marks the start of a new series (12 in all) of Africa's Nobel prize winners.
