Accountant - Knysna - Western Cape

An accounting firm in Knysna is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join their team.

Salary:
R20 000 - R35 000 depending on experience

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ accountancy experience
• Matriculation and BCom Accounting Degree
• Experience with different accounting packages – Draftworx and Xero (preferable)
• Experience in using Greatsoft to process and manage all tax returns and keep record of time (preferable).
• Good analytical skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt accordingly
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Great time management and self-discipline
• An excellent planning and forecasting mindset
• Fluent in English
• Driver’s license

Job Description:

This role will be focused on assisting clients with compilations of financial statements and/or independent reviews of financial statements and income tax calculations.
 

• Receive the Trial Balance and supporting documents from the client and to be able to:

1. Compile Annual Financial Statements for Companies and     CCs based on IFRS for SME’s using Draftworx.
2. Understand Trusts and to be able to compile Trust Annual   Financial Statements.

• Competent knowledge of income tax consequences and completion of the income tax calculation for the Companies, CC or Trusts is important.

• Experience in tax planning – with and understanding of personal income tax, dividends withholding tax and donations tax.

• Good bookkeeping experience with accounting knowledge to assist clients with monthly work.

• To have an understanding and experience in calculating and submitting VAT returns.

• Knowledge about payroll and submission of EMP201’s and EMP501’s.
