Tharwat Londt has been appointed as the new Park Inn by Radisson Newlands, Cape Town executive chef. Londt has extensive international hospitality experience having started his career as a waiter in 2003 and then moving into five-star hospitality with stints at the Cape Grace Hotel and Singita.
Londt holds an advanced diploma in professional cookery from City & Gill in London and has also worked as a private chef on yachts before taking his skills to Germany and Spain. According to Londt, he was inspired by his mother to pursue culinary, and aside from his family, he says he draws his inspiration from history.
Londt says he will continue to enhance his skills to provide his diners with the best experience: "The culinary world is huge. There are always new techniques to learn, there are always innovations being made, there is always more to know. Every day you learn something new in the kitchen."
