New publisher appointed for popular women's titles

"This has been an incredible year of makeovers, movement and milestones for our Creative Living Magazine Division," says chief executive of Media24 Magazines Patricia Scholtemeyer, who announced that Terena le Roux has been appointed as the division's new publisher, as of 1 September.

According to Scholtemeyer, the Creative Living Magazine Division has seen tremendous growth in the past two years, and it has four titles that are market leaders in their combined forms. Woman's Value and dit are top-selling women's titles, and Tuis and its recently launched English counterpart, Home, are among the most popular décor and design publications in South Africa.

After extensive revamps in time for the April 2005 editions, the most recent ABC figures show that Woman's Value circulation figures have risen by 4% to 69 786, and Afrikaans sister publication dit increased circulation by 10% to 85 642, making this combination the top-selling women's title in South Africa.

Le Roux will be wholly responsible for the Creative Living Magazine Division and therefore relinquish her role as editor of Woman's Value and dit. The new editor of these magazines, the business manager, the special projects editor and the associate editors of Tuis and Home will all be managed by Le Roux, who will also oversee business unit circulation and national advertising sales.
