Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Commissioning Editor to join our content team. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing content that aligns with The Rooms Network’s channel strategy across movie room and playroom.


Key duties and responsibilities 
Content commissioning and development
  • Identify and commission content aligned to channel strategy and audience needs.
  • Manage production documentation and process.
Editorial oversight
  • Provide editorial direction across all stages of production to ensure content aligns with brand positioning and objectives
Production oversight
  • Oversee the commissioning process from concept through to final delivery, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
Stakeholder management
  • Build and maintain relationships with producers, studios, and content suppliers
  • Act as the key point of contact for commissioned content.
Cross-functional collaboration
  • Work closely with programming, scheduling, marketing, creative, and production teams to ensure alignment on content plans and delivery.
Delivery and quality control
  • Ensure all content meets technical and editorial standards and is TX-ready.
  • Oversee dubbing processes and approve final deliverables.
Compliance and governance
  • Ensure all commissioned content complies with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Manage contracts and deliverables.
Performance monitoring
  • Monitor content performance and provide insights to inform future commissioning strategies.


Minimum qualifications, experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in film, television, media studies, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in content commissioning, production, or programming.
  • Experience in a broadcast, production house, or digital media environment preferred.
Skills and knowledge:
  • Strong editorial judgment and storytelling ability.
  • Knowledge of production and post-production workflows.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
