Duke of Radio takes Good Hope throne

Anthony Duke is the new station manager of Cape Town radio station Good Hope FM. Duke, who was appointed acting station manager end of June this year, is one of the country's most experienced broadcasters.

Duke was station manager of 5FM from 1995 to 2003 before joining the SABC training department. Among his many career highlights, Duke launched Capital Radio 604, the first independent radio station, and later was invited by the Dutch Government to represent the commercial radio sector in South Africa at conference in Holland to help map out the future of radio in a post-apartheid South Africa.

Moving from his current portfolio as training manager for SABC Radio, Duke is relishing the challenges of the new position, and promises changes going forward. "Good Hope FM will be changing their programming format and have a lot of new ideas in place, which will be effective 1 October. I look forward to further developing these strategies with the team, ensuring that we are offering and delivering the best to a Cape Town radio audience"

Completing the Good Hope FM management team are Meegan Kieffer (marketing manager) and Gerard Muller (programme manager).
