Facebook wants to stop spreading fake news about vaccines

Facebook has revealed its plans to help stop the spread of fake information about vaccines on its platform.

This comes after the rise of anti-vaxxers, a group determined to stop vaccinating their children, putting them and everyone else at risk of serious disease.

“We are working to tackle vaccine misinformation on Facebook by reducing its distribution and providing people with authoritative information on the topic,” Facebook said on its website.

The company intends to do this by rejecting ads with false information, not showing or recommending pages in News Feed who contribute to the issue, and countering the fake news with facts.
