Entry deadline for 2019 Shenzhen Design Award for Young Talents extended

The entry deadline for the 2019 Shenzhen Design Award for Young Talents has been extended to 5pm on 25 October 2019. Capetonian designers and design students may enter the competition as Cape Town is part of the Unesco Creative Cities Network (UCCN).

The Shenzhen Design Award for Young Talents (SDAY) is an international professional competition for young designers under the age of 35 (or, in the case of architectural design, under 40) who are from the 180 Unesco Creative Cities worldwide.

Submissions may be made in the following categories:

•Communications: brand and identity, packaging design, publications, typography, posters, illustrations, information visualisation
•Interactive media: interactive design, website UI design, PC and mobile UX design, animation design, game and software design, motion picture and television design
•Spatial design: architectural design, landscape design, interior design, urban and public guiding design system
•Fashion design: apparel, accessories, texture design, dying and knitting
•Public service design and design thinking in public policy
•Industrial design: automobile, furniture, product design
•Others
