ASA ruling favours NGOs
Losing a firearm can be construed as negligence; having it stolen from you can not. If your stolen car is involved in a cash in transit heist or hijacking, do you "take responsibility" for it? Of course not.As for stolen firearms for the 2013/2014 financial year, the minister of Police reported that 5,194 firearms were stolen from private individuals, while public institutions had 1,769 firearms stolen from them over the same period. Once more, firearms are safer and less likely to be stolen when in the hands of a private individual than when in the hands of an officer of a public institution.

Great article Chris. TAMS research is now implemented by the BRC (Broadcasting Research Council)...as we attended the introduction of the new committee the journey from fixing TAM to present day usageā€¦this was just over 2 weeks ago . The Good news is the BRC seems to have all their ducks in a row and now having seen Weighting efficiencies increase from 39% to 70 % which is beyond world standards, Annual audit with independent international TAM expert, Robert Ruud , now the only thing SA has to wait for is the shift over to DTT !! #WatchThisSpace #FreeToAir

Brendan's articles always insightful and always with a "cut-to-the-chase" focus; the best reason for me to buy the Weekend Argus each Saturday. More power to your pen, Brendan.

Minister blames journalists for Zim's problems
This is becoming a resounding joke! Every problem the Zim Govt has created leading to the downfall of a previous strong economy and a great country has been blamed on colonialism, white intervention, the British etc... And now the press!! It really is a basket case situation!!!

Why 2015 should be the year of internal communication
couldnt agree more, internal communication plays an essential role as employees have to be connected to the brand and understand they valued and its only through communication that organisations can find real value and remain at the top, and gain competitive edge

Fuel tax not so high after all
You cannot compare fuel levies etc in isolation. You also have to include salaries - which in itself doesn't give a complete picture but it helps. Going according to the ILO average wages for 2009 - and we're probably worse off by now...US - $3,263Belgium - $3,035Italy - $2,445Australia - $2,610New Zealand - $2,283South Africa - $1,838And that was when the rand was far better against the dollar. We also have a greater wealth gap than many of these countries, so effectively, we are paying a damned sight more than anyone else.

ASA ruling favours NGOs
So according to GFSA's 'logic', if someone steals my car and mows down a child afterwards, I am culpable for the child's death? If that makes any sense whatsoever, I'm a banana.

ASA ruling favours NGOs
@ashley. The ad says " if your stolen gun was there" not "if your lost gun was there". How many private guns were stolen, and do you think that figure is accurate, or do you think perhaps gun owners might be lying about the fact that their guns are being lost to avoid prosecution, hmm?
